On May 6, 2019, Costa Rica published an Executive Decree 41,627 on “La Gaceta” with the new regional Customs Format for Central American countries (Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua and Panama).

The new format is known as DUCA for its acronym in Spanish, “Declaraciòn Unica Centroamericana” (Single Cento American Declaration). This format replaces the previous form named FAUCA.

DUCA may be transmitted electronically and has three modes:

·         DUCA-F for central-American goods;

·         DUCA-D for goods exported out of central America;

·         DUCA-T for international in-bonds.

The new format went into force on May 7, 2019.
