In a Federal Register Notice (FRN) scheduled for publication on October 27, 2022, the U.S. Department of Commerce’s International Trade Administration issued a request for comments on any subsidies provided by “certain countries exporting softwood lumber or softwood lumber products to the United States during the period January 1, 2022, through June 30, 2022.”
The comments should pertain to the six countries which had exports “accounting for at least one percent of total U.S. imports of softwood lumber by quantity.” These countries are identified in the FRN as Austria, Brazil, Canada, Germany, Romania, and Sweden.
Comments must be submitted by November 26, 2022.
