Commerce Seeks Comments on Softwood Lumber Subsidies

On October 8, 2020, in a Federal Register Notice (FRN), the U.S. Department of Commerce’s International Trade Administration issued a notice requesting comments on any subsidies provided by “certain countries exporting softwood lumber or softwood lumber products to the United States during the period January 1, 2020 through June 30, 2020.”

The comments should pertain to the four countries which had exports “accounting for at least one percent of total U.S. imports of softwood lumber by quantity.” These countries are identified in the FRN as Brazil, Canada, Germany, and Sweden.

Comments must be submitted by November 7, 2020.
