Commerce Replaces Section 232 Duties on UK Steel and Aluminum with Tariff-Rate Quotas

On March 22, 2022, the Department of Commerce (Commerce) issued a statement announcing that the existing 25% duties under Section 232 of the Trade Expansion Act of 1962 on steel products and 10% duties on aluminum products from the United Kingdom (UK) will be replaced with tariff-rate quotas (TRQ) effective June 1, 2022. The products included under these TRQs are listed in the statement. Imports of derivative steel and aluminum products from the UK will not be subject to Section 232 duties.
