Commerce Releases FAQ on Product Exclusions for Section 232 Steel and Aluminum Tariffs

On July 24, 2018, the U.S. Department of Commerce (Commerce) published Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) on product exclusions for Section 232 steel and aluminum tariffs.

The FAQ covers topics such as:

  • The process for product exclusion requests;

  • How to find out if the exclusion was granted or denied, and the reasoning for the decision;

  • Refund eligibility and how to receive them;

  • How to protest a product exclusion denial;

  • Other information.

Commerce directs further questions to Aluminum232@bis.doc.gov or 202-482-4757 for aluminum, and Steel232@bis.doc.gov or 202-482-5642 for steel.
