In a joint statement issued on August 12, 2025, the Tariff Commission of the State Council of China announced that the People’s Republic of China is extending its suspension of 24% tariffs on U.S. origin goods as trade talks continue. During this suspension period, a 10% tariff rate will remain on U.S. origin goods.
The Chinese Ministry of Commerce also announced that restrictions to 17 U.S. entities on the Unreliable Entity List and 28 on the China Export Control Entity List would also be suspended.
The extensions for the tariffs and the U.S. entities will last for 90 days, starting from August 12, 2025.
