China Adds Brand and Duty Preference Specifications on Import/Export Declaration Form

On December 27, 2017, the General Administration of Customs of China (GACC) recently revised the specification type required on “Customs Declaration Form for Import/Export Goods”.

 In addition to “Commodity Name, Specification & Model”; Brand Type and Export Preference information are now required.

 The categories under Brand Type are:

  • No brand type;
  • Domestic self-owned;
  • Domestic acquired brand;
  • Foreign brand;
  • Foreign brand (Other).

The Export Preference categories are:

  • No preferential duty at the country/region of final destination;
  • With preferential duty at the country/region of final destination;
  • Preferential duty uncertain at the country/region of final destination;

The announcement entered into force on January 1, 2018.
