Certificates of Export Requirement Imposed on Korean Steel Quota Products

On September 18, 2019, U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) published a Federal Register Notice (FRN) 84 FR 49115 announcing that valid certificates of exportation will be required for imports of steel products under quota tariffs 9903.80.05 through 9903.80.58.

This requirement applies to steel products of Korean origin entered for consumption or withdrawn from warehouse on or after October 18, 2019. Exporters may apply on-through the Korean Iron and Steel Association’s website at http://sq.kosa.or.kr/​. The certificates are only available to exporters.
