CBSA Extends Late Payment and Interest Grace Period

In a Customs Notice published on January 23, 2025, the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) announced an extension of not issuing late payment penalties and interest.

This grace period was originally set to end on January 19, 2025, but it has now been extended to March 31, 2025.

As of April 1, 2025, all accounts with overdue balances on their March 2025 statement of account will be subject to late payment penalties. Interest will begin to accrue on those accounts on April 4, 2025.
