CBP Updates Entry Summary Cancellation Payment Processing

In a Cargo Systems Messaging Service (CSMS) message published on October 25, 2023, U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) provided interim guidance, with immediate effect, on an update to its entry summary cancellation policy.

Per the CSMS, when submitting a request for cancellation, payment will no longer be demanded to be tendered on the original and replacement entry. CBP will now grant the option to remove a cancelled original entry summary from a daily or periodic statement “while it is in CBP control as long as there is a valid bond, and the replacement entry summary is scheduled for payment.”
