CBP to Begin Rejecting Vague Cargo Descriptions in ACAS

In a Cargo Systems Messaging Service (CSMS) bulletin published on November 7, 2024, U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) announced they will begin rejecting vague cargo descriptions in the Air Cargo Advance Screening (ACAS) system

Previously, CBP had implemented a warning period allowing for correction to the warning notifications.

CBP will begin issuing rejections for vague cargo descriptions at 12:00 pm EST on November 12, 2024.
