CBP Publishes Guidance on Increased Additional Duties on Imports from China and Hong Kong

In a Cargo Systems Messaging Service (CSMS) bulletin published on March 3, 2025, U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) announced that the additional duties on imports from China and Hong Kong are increasing from 10% to 20%.

This increase in duty will apply to goods originating from China or Hong Kong that are entered for consumption or withdrawn from warehouse for consumption on or after March 4, 2025.

This update only changes the additional duty rate makes no changes to available exclusions, drawback ineligibility, foreign trade zone status, and the availability of de minimis exemptions.
