CBP Issues Withhold Release Order against Cotton and Tomato Products from Xinjiang

On January 13, 2021, in a press release, U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) issued a Withhold Release Order (WRO) against cotton and tomato products produced in China’s Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region for forced labor concerns.

The affected products include:

  • Apparel;
  • Textiles;
  • Canned tomatoes; and
  • Tomato sauce.

CBP will detain these products at all U.S. ports of entry effective January 13, 2021.
