In a Cargo Systems Messaging Service (CSMS) bulletin published on May 30, 2025, U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) announced the extension of the in-transit exception for International Emergency Economic Powers Act (IEEPA) Reciprocal tariffs.

This updated guidance “applies to the actions that are effective on April 5, 2025, April 9, 2025, and April 10, 2025” and is temporary while the stay of the Court of International Trade (CIT) is in effect.

The exception was originally set to end on May 28, 2025, but it has now been extended to June 16, 2025.
