CBP Announces Section 232 Quota Period 4

On September 4, 2020, in Cargo Systems Messaging Service (CSMS) #43956557, U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) announced the fourth quota period for steel mill articles under Section 232 of the Trade Expansion Act of 1962 for the 2020 quota year.

Period 4 begins on October 1, 2020 at 8:30am EST. All entries submitted prior to the opening will be counted in the first opening, with entries being prorated if the totals exceed the limit. The period extends through December 31, 2020.

Quota Bulletin QB 20-604 Absolute Quota for Steel Mill Articles: Argentina, Brazil and South Korea outlines the tariff rates and quantity thresholds.

CBP also provided guidance on the changes made to the quantity limits on certain steel products from Brazil to align with Presidential Proclamation 10064.
