CBP Announces Revised Dates for TSCA and Vehicle Imports

In two Federal Register Notices (FRN) to be published on January 27, 2017 U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) will announce a delay in the effective dates to previously issued FRNs. These FRNs cover Toxic Substances Control Act (TSCA) revisions and importations of certain vehicles and engines under the Clean Air Act (CAA).

Both FRNs were to be effective on January 26, 2017, but are being delayed 60 days due to a memorandum published by White House Chief of Staff, requesting all agencies to, “temporarily postpone the effective date for 60 days from the date of the memorandum of all regulations that had been published in the Federal Register, but had not taken effect.”

These two rules will now become effective on March 21, 2017.
