In a Federal Register Notice (FRN) published on December 27, 2016 U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) announced an amendment being made to certain vehicle and engine requirements that fall under the Clean Air Act (CAA).

This final rule aligns the documentation required by the CAA and the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and also allows the required EPA forms to be filed electronically in CBP’s Document Imaging System (DIS). Title 19 of the Code of Federal Regulations (19 CFR) Part 12 will be updated to show these updates.

This final rule will go into effect on January 26, 2017.
