Canadian Government Seeking Feedback on List of Additional Retaliatory Tariffs

Posted by Salvatore Laverde on 3/17/25 5:00 PM

In a Notice of Intent published on March 7, 2025, the Canadian government announced the implementation of a second round of tariffs on the United States if the U.S. does not remove the tariffs applied to Canadian goods.

These tariffs would be applied to an additional $125 billion of imports from a table of goods listed in the Notice of Intent. This round of tariffs will be subject to a comment period before implementation.

The Canadian government is seeking views from businesses, stakeholders, and the general public regarding the impacts of these proposed tariffs on the listed goods until April 2, 2025.
