Canada Publishes Final List of Chinese Steel and Aluminum Products Subject to Surtax

In a Press release published on August 26, 2024, the Canadian Department of Finance announced the final list of steel and aluminum products from China that will be subject to a 25% import surtax.

The list of Chinese-origin products subject to the tax covers 163 different tariff numbers for steel products and 19 tariff numbers for aluminum.

This surtax goes into effect on October 22, 2024. It will not apply to Chinese goods that are in transit to Canda on the day of enforcement.
