BIS Provides Priority Processing for SNAP-R During Shutdown

Posted by Timothy Miller on 10/31/25 4:59 PM

In an update to the Simplified Network Application Process – Redesign (SNAP-R) website, the Bureau of Industry and Security (BIS) announced a process to prioritize the review of license applications submitted through SNAP-R that are “urgently required to protect U.S. national security and the safety of life and property.”

To request expedited processing of license applications, BIS asks applicants to include a note in the “Additional Information” block that priority processing is requested and a brief justification.

In addition, an email should be sent to EmergencyLicense@bis.doc.gov with a justification for priority processing, “noting any nexus to urgent U.S. national security priorities or the safety of life and property.”
