On November 10, 2023, the Argentinian Ministry of Commerce and Economy published Provision 33/2023. This Provision follows Resolution 1495/2023 and is an update to the technical regulations and framework of Argentina’s electrical safety standards.  This provision restricts the ability to exempt the certification of many goods previously exempted with an affidavit.

Provision 33/2023 clarifies the definitions and concepts including spare parts, suitable use, unshared brand and model, and compliance exceptions. The changes to the technical regulations aim to ensure that electrical equipment sold in the country provides a high level of protection and security to the health of individuals, domestic pets and property.

Provision 33/2023 became effective on November 10, 2023, and Resolution 1495/2023 became effective on November 8, 2023.
