Argentina Reduces Import Duties on Textiles, Apparel, and Footwear

In a notice published on March 31, 2025, in the Boletín Oficial de la República Argentina, the Argentinian government announced Decree 236/2025. This decree contains import duty reductions for textile, apparel, and footwear products.

Before this decree, textiles had a duty rate of 26%, while footwear and apparel had rates of 35%. Annex I lists 928 statistical breakouts from chapters 42 to 64 of the Mercosur Common Nomenclature and organizes them into a tiered system of new duty rates from 12% to 20%.

Decree 236/2025 went into effect on the day of publication.
