Argentina Modifies Quality and Security Certification of Imports

Posted by Arturo González on 3/14/25 5:00 PM

On February 6, 2025, the Argentinian Ministry of the Economy published Resolución 237/2024, which contains changes to the regulations applicable to the security and quality certification for products that are imported or sold in Argentina.

Additionally, in an effort to reduce costs and trade barriers, the Argentinian Customs service will no longer enforce the quality and security certification at the time of import. This is not a waiving of the requirements, and the certifications will still be monitored by a different authority in Argentina’s internal market.

Resolución 237/2024 went into effect on February 6, 2025, after a delay from the initial date of August 30,2024.
