On July 23, 2024, Argentina’s Central Bank published Communication A8074 to announce a reduction of the time frame in which sellers of certain goods imported into Argentina will be able to receive payment through the foreign exchange market.

For most goods, 50% of the Free on Board (FOB) value may be paid after 30 calendar days from the date of customs registration, and the remaining 50% after 60 calendar days.

Finished automobiles, transportation vehicles, motorcycles, certain fish and their derivatives, and wines and other alcoholic beverages had their time frame shortened from 120 to 90 days.

These changes to the payment schedule went into effect August 1, 2024.
