APHIS Extends Core Implementation and Electronic Document Acceptance

On July 1, 2020, in Cargo Systems Messaging Service (CSMS) #43224976, the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS) announced that the timeline for implementing the APHIS Core message set is extended until January 2021.  The implementation was originally scheduled for August 3, 2020.  The message set is currently available, and its use is strongly recommended for those who are ready.

On July 7, 2020, in CSMS #43286915, APHIS announced the extension of the interim guidance allowing the electronic submission of veterinary health certificates through September 30, 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.  Instructions on document submission are provided in the CSMS, found here:
