On May 2, 2024, Türkiye’s Ministry of Trade announced measures prohibiting all import and export transactions related to Israel.
This development represents the "second phase" of actions implemented by Türkiye against Israel. It follows an initial restriction on exports to Israel, affecting several product categories, that came into effect on April 9, 2024. It is now prohibited to file customs declarations in Türkiye that involve Israel as a country of origin, destination, or exporting country. The May 2nd announcement was not followed by any official guidance or statutory amendment. Nevertheless, trade with Israel has been halted with immediate effect.
