China has announced additional security enhancements for the upcoming China-Africa Cooperation meeting in Beijing from September 4-6, 2024.
Various air terminals with 24-hour "cooling" service i.e., 24-hour supervision at terminal CFS (container freight station) for odd-size shipments, will be temporarily suspended.
The suspension will impact available freight options and lead times for oversized freight out of China, particularly freight that cannot pass through x-ray screening and requires 24 hours of dwell time inside the terminal.
This suspension will be in place from September 1-7, 2024.
