Chinese Port Congestion: May 26, 2021

Posted by Expeditors on May 26, 2021 12:17:47 PM

The Chinese ports of Hong Kong, Yantian, Shekou, and Nansha are experiencing severe congestion due to delays in vessel schedules, COVID-19 preventive measures, and limited crew changes.

The Port of Yantian has implemented special procedures to mitigate the congestion: From May 25 to May 28, export laden containers will not be accepted to gate in terminals, while pickup of import laden containers and empty containers will remain normal. From May 28 until June 3, only export containers within four days of the vessel’s ETA will be accepted.
