Shanghai Covid-19 Update: April 21, 2022

As of 10:00am April 21st, Shanghai reported 32,741 positive cases (2,634 new cases) and 402,586 asymptomatic cases (15,861 new cases) since March 1st, 2022.

Starting from 12:00am on April 2nd, people leaving Shanghai need to show a negative antigen test result within 24 hours and a negative nucleic acid test within 48 hours.

On Apr 16th, the Shanghai government issued the first guidelines for businesses to start returning to work. There are 666 companies on the white list. It is made clear that risk management and closed loop management against this round of the COVID-19 pandemic are the main responsibility of these organizations.

On Apr 19th, the Shanghai government adjusted the “3 Risk Areas” division according to screening results and risk research. The city's 16 districts have been updated on the list. Details on the 3 areas for each street and town have been published, except for the Pudong district, which is still pending for official announcement by each street/town separately.
