Severe Weather Impacts Nuevo Laredo Port Operations: September 18, 2024

Severe storms over the weekend caused damage to some areas of the World Trade Bridge facilities in Nuevo Laredo.

MX Customs communicated that repairs to the import platform are underway, and partial operations have been restored.

As a contingency measure, they have authorized MX Import declarations filed through the Nuevo Laredo Port of Entry (240) to cross into Mexico through the Colombia Solidarity Bridge (approximately 20 miles north). Additionally, MX Customs has opened a few lanes to process import shipments at World Trade Bridge this morning, and they will be routing freight based on how the situation progresses.

Northbound traffic out of Mexico and into the US remains unaffected, and it is expected to continue operating normally through World Trade Bridge.
