Governments in both Italy and Saudi Arabia have issued further restrictions over the weekend due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak.
Italy
The Italian government issued a decree that large parts of northern and one province in central Italy are subject to increased restrictions. These new regulations require residents to restrict their movements as well as a widespread ban on public activities. Carriers may enter, exit, and move within the affected areas but only for delivery and/or collection purposes.
In addition, a number of airlines announced passenger flight suspension to and from Italy; including American Airlines, Delta, Korean, Emirates.
- Alitalia cancelled all flights departing from the Milan Airport.
- Delta cancelled flights between Rome and Atlanta starting March 11 through April 30.
Saudi Arabia
The Saudi Arabian government is suspending the arrival of passengers travelling from and transiting through any airport in the following countries:
- United Arab Emirates
- Kuwait
- Bahrain
- Lebanon
- Egypt
- Syria
- Iraq
- Italy
- Korea
