Early Friday morning, we began receiving reports of a Global IT outage impacting airlines, airports, seaports, railways, customs brokers, and customs software firms. This outage has caused thousands of flight cancellations and delays.
The root cause has been linked to a cybersecurity software update from the company CrowdStrike. Microsoft and CrowdStrike have deployed mitigation processes to address and resolve the issues as soon as possible. The situation remains fluid and continues to evolve.
We are working closely with our service providers in assessing the impact to our customers’ cargo. There is no known global impact on Expeditors’ brokerage services.
