Hurricane Irma Update: Sept. 11, 2017

Written by Expeditors | Sep 11, 2017 6:33:50 PM

Hurricane Irma has passed South Florida.  The hurricane brought very strong winds and generated significant flooding and wind damage in certain parts of south Florida.  Electricity and cell service is still out in certain areas.

As of 11 AM EST the latest weather advisory indicated the remnants of Hurricane Irma are currently moving Northwest from Florida into the state of Georgia.  Forecasts estimate Atlanta and surrounding areas will be impacted by tropical force winds and heavy rain later this afternoon.  Due to the severity of the storm, Atlanta will close operations at 2pm EST today, returning to full operations tomorrow morning.
