Shipping lines have announced a temporary suspension of feeder services in South China from approximately mid-January to the end of February 2021, for cargo consigned to ports in Hainan and Guangxi provinces, and the Pearl River Delta area.
This suspension is due to COVID-19 quarantine requirements for the ship crews on coastal feeders running between South China and Hong Kong waters.
Ports in South China, Hainan, Guangxi, and “Pearl River Delta” areas include, but are not limited to, Beihai, Chiwan, DachanBay, Fangcheng, Guigang, Haikou, Qinzhou, Shekou, Shenwan, Wuzhou, Xiaolan, Xinhui, Yangpu, Yantian, Zhanjiang, and Zhongshan Port Authority Terminal.
Depending on the carrier, ports in the Fujian area might be included in the temporary suspension of services. These ports include, but are not limited to, Xiamen, Fuzhou, Fuqing, and Quanzhou.
If your suppliers are located in the above mentioned areas, please work with them and your local Expeditors representatives to find alternative routing and/or transportation methods for cargo during this time period.
