USDA Issues Sugar Tariff-Rate Quotas for FY 2023

On September 15, 2022, in a Federal Register Notice (FRN), the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) issued the Fiscal Year (FY) 2023 tariff-rate quota levels for certain sugars, syrups, and molasses referred to as refined sugar. The total in-quota aggregate quantity is set at 222,000 metric tons raw volume (MTRV).   The quantities will be allocated across five tranches throughout the course of the FY, with the first tranche beginning October 1, 2023.
