President Trump Extends Section 201 Safeguards on Large Residential Washers

On January 14, 2021, U.S. President Donald Trump issued Proclamation on the Continuation of Facilitating Positive Adjustment to Competition from Imports of Large Residential Washers announcing the extension of the safeguard measures imposed under Section 201 of the Trade Act of 1974 on large residential washers. These measures include a tariff-rate quota on imports of certain large residential washers and certain covered washer parts.

The safeguard measures were established in January 2018 for a period of three years. The proclamation extends the measures for an additional two years.
