On June 8, 2021, in a press release, U.S. President Joseph Biden announced the findings of the February 24th Executive Order on America’s Supply Chains review to identify risks and vulnerabilities to “protect the United States from facing shortages of critical products.” The actions being taken as a result of the review include the establishment of a Supply Chains Disruptions Task Force to address near-term supply chain challenges to the economic recovery. Efforts will also be made to support domestic production of critical medicines and advanced batteries as well as the sustainable processing of critical minerals.
