USDA Seeks Comments on Reducing Regulatory Burdens

In a Federal Register Notice to be published on January 26, 2016 the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) in an effort to make current regulations more efficient and less burdensome is seeking public comment on which current regulations could be altered, expanded, or removed in order to achieve this objective.

According to the release, “the USDA is particularly interested in public comments that speak to areas in which we can reduce costs and reporting burdens on the public, through technological advances or other modernization efforts, and on regulatory flexibility.”

Comments must be submitted by March 26, 2016 and must refer to “Retrospective Review” to ensure delivery.
