Tianjin Port Update

Posted by Julia Gogoll on 8/28/15 4:05 PM

Approximately two weeks after a significant series of explosions occurred at the ocean port complex in Tianjin, China, port terminals have resumed normal operations.

While “cargo ships have resumed normal loading and unloading at Tianjin freight terminals,” according to a release by the Wall Street Journal, vessel berth times have increased due to truck shortage and traffic congestion within the terminal areas.  However, no delay has been reported for recovering export cargo or delivering import cargo.

At this time, it is unclear as to when ocean carriers will re-accept shipments involving dangerous goods.

Expeditors will continue to monitor the situation and provide updates as they occur.
