As noted in a previous Newsflash, on July 16, 2014, the Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) introduced the Sectoral Sanctions Identifications List (SSI List) which identified persons and entities operating in certain sectors of the Russian economy against whom new financial restrictions were being implemented. On July 23, 2014 OFAC further announced that additional file formats for the SSI List were being released.

According to a Recent Actions message published by OFAC, this update was made "to facilitate the public’s ability to comply with the SSI List." Note that the OFAC announcement relates only to additional file formats being made available and additional names were not added to the SSI List at the time.
