U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) has posted a notice to its website announcing the October 2013 Customs Broker License Examination. Customs stated that the exam will be held on Monday, October 7, 2013 at various locations throughout the United States.
In the notice, CBP announced that test-takers will now have an additional 30 minutes to complete the examination, for a total of 4.5 hours. The exam consists of 80 multiple-choice questions, and requires a score of 75 percent in order to receive a passing grade.
Customs stated that the October 2013 examination was written using the following references:
- Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States (2013 version, no supplements)
- Title 19, Code of Federal Regulations (revised as of April 1, 2013) (Parts 1 - End)
- Customs and Trade Automated Interface Requirements (CATAIR)
- Instructions for Preparation of CBP Form 7501 (July 24, 2012)
- Right to Make Entry Directive 3530-002A
The guidelines to register for the exam will posted on CBP's website in the upcoming weeks.
