U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) has posted a notice to its website announcing the October 2014 Customs Broker License Examination. Customs stated that the exam will be held on Monday, October 6, 2014 at various locations throughout the United States.
In the notice, CBP specifies that test-takers will have an additional 30 minutes to complete the examination, for a total of 4.5 hours. The exam consists of 80 multiple-choice questions, and requires a computed score of 75 percent to receive a passing grade.
Customs stated that the October 2014 examination was written using the following references:
- Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States (Either the 2013 or 2014 HTSUS may be used)
- Title 19, Code of Federal Regulations (Either the 2013 or 2014 CFR may be used for this examination, Parts 0 to End.)
- Customs and Trade Automated Interface Requirements (CATAIR)
- Appendix B - Valid Codes
- Appendix D - Metric Conversion
- Appendix E - Valid Entry Numbers
- Appendix G - Common Errors
- Glossary of Terms
