Effective June 27, 2015, beneficiaries under the Mercosur free trade agreement between Argentina, Brazil, Paraguay, and Uruguay will need to present a revised Mercosur certificate of origin, as specified in the 77th Additional Protocol of the Economic Complementation Agreement #18.
The certificate of origin is part of Appendix II, and key points include the following:
- Certificate cannot contain any amendments
- All fields must be completed (except fields 14 and 3 when importer and consignee are the same)
- Certificate will be valid for 180 days after issuance date
- Certificate must be issued within 60 days from commercial invoice date
