ITC Initiates AD CVD Sunset Review on Small Diameter Graphite Electrodes from China and Ball Bearings from Japan and the U.K.
In a Federal Register notice published on January 2, 2014, the International Trade Administration (ITA) announced the initiation of the five-year Sunset Review of antidumping and countervailing duty (AD/CVD) orders on Small Diameter Graphite Electrodes from China (A-570-929) and Ball Bearings and Parts Thereof from Japan (A-588-804) and the United Kingdom (A-412-801).

The Uruguay Round Agreement Act requires the Department of Commerce to conduct reviews after an AD/CVD order has been issued in order to determine if the revocation of the order would result in material injury to a domestic company or in recurrence of dumping or subsidies.

According to the notice, “In accordance with the Department's regulations, if we do not receive a notice of intent to participate from at least one domestic interested party by the 15-day deadline, the Department will automatically revoke the order without further review.”

Interested parties need to submit a notice of intend to participate no later than January 17, 2014, followed by the submission of their complete substantive responses no later than February 1, 2014.
