On May 26, 2015 the Guatemalan Revenue Administration (SAT) issued letter OFI-SAT-IAD-511/2015 to Guatemala’s President of Cargo Agencies announcing upcoming regulatory changes pertaining to cargo manifest compliance, which will require the submission of additional data elements effective July 14, 2015.
The supplementary information required includes the following:
·Consignee´s Tax Identification Number
·Consignee name and physical address
·Freight information such as House or Master Bill of Lading number
·Cargo weight, currency, freight cost, insurance and other charges.
The SAT also requests modifications to applicable electronic system to ensure the new mandatory data elements can be transmitted.
The revised regulations must be followed by steam ship lines, airlines and freight forwarders.
