Guatemala Customs Postpones Requirement on Additional Cargo Manifest Information

On July 16, 2015 Guatemala’s Customs Administration announced the postponement of their previously published regulatory amendments pertaining to cargo manifest compliance, under which a filer will be required to submit additional data elements. The implantation date has been pushed back from July 14, 2015 to August 31, 2015.
 
The supplementary information required includes the following:
Consignee´s Tax Identification Number
Consignee name and physical address
Freight information such as House or Master Bill of Lading number 
Cargo weight, currency, freight cost, insurance and other charges
 
The SAT also requests modifications to applicable electronic system to ensure the new mandatory data elements can be transmitted. 
 
The revised regulations must be followed by steam ship lines, airlines and freight forwarders.
