The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) recently published an announcement on the FDA website, reminding the trade that food facilities required to register with the FDA need to renew their registration during the period beginning October 1, 2016 and ending December 31, 2016.

According to the announcement, “If a registration is not renewed by 11:59 PM on December 31st, the registration will expire and be removed from your account.” Further, if a food facility was updated or registered prior to October 1, 2016 you still must renew your registration prior to the December 31, 2016 cutoff.

FDA released a notice encouraging food importers to renew their registrations as soon as possible to mitigate any prior notice shipment delays.
