On October 30, 2016 the European Union (EU) and Canada signed the EU-Canada Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement (CETA) in Brussels, Belgium. Legislation will now be sent to Canada’s House of Commons and the EU’s European Parliament for ratification, followed by ratification by the national parliaments of EU Member States.

“CETA is a modern, progressive trade agreement that, when implemented, will generate billions of dollars in bilateral trade and investment, provide greater choice and lower prices to consumers, and create middle class jobs in many sectors on both sides of the Atlantic.”
