Department of Commerce Announces Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Trade Policy Mission to Peru

In a Federal Register notice to be published on May 19, 2014, the Department of Commerce is announcing a Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency (RE&EE) Trade Policy Mission to Lima, Peru from November 12-13, 2014, aimed to introduce U.S. exporters pursuing opportunities in the RE&EE sectors to Peru’s market.

The notice explains that, “During the trade policy mission, participants will: 1) receive market briefings on the status of the renewable energy market in Peru, including an assessment of upcoming opportunities; 2) receive a Market Assessment Report on opportunities in Peru’s renewable energy market; 3) be introduced to key Peruvian government and regulatory officials during meetings to discuss policies related to renewable energy and energy efficiency; and 4) attend a networking reception with Peruvian business persons and government officials organized by the U.S. Foreign and Commercial Service.”

U.S. exporters from the following RE&EE sectors are encouraged to attend the mission:

  • Wind
  • Solar
  • Geothermal
  • Biomass
  • Hydropower
  • Waste-to-energy
  • Smart grid
  • Energy efficiency industries
