Posted by Sarah Lilly on 5/17/16 4:40 PM

In a release published by the Directorate of Defense Trade Controls (DDTC) announced that the DDTC will no longer be accepting the expired DSP-83 form. In a previously published notice from November 2015, the DDTC announced the revised DSP-83 form with extended expiration date would be the accepted format, but the DDTC has found the expired form is still being submitted.

The DDTC advises that current pending licenses that have been submitted on the expired form will be required to also submit a non-expired form to D-Trade prior to export, but not later than July 1, 2016. Beginning May 14, 2016 an expired DDTC must be accompanied by an “explicit signed separate letter from the Empowered Official acknowledging they understand the requirement to obtain a new DSP-83 prior to DDTC approval of the case.” If the correct DSP-83 is not uploaded by July 1, 2016, the case will be Returned Without Action.

Beginning May 14, 2016 the DDTC will no longer accept the expired DSP-83 and after July 1, 2016 expired DSP-83 forms will be Returned Without Action.
